The third invitation
It has been several months since you met Dr. Hannibal Lecter.
What began as a casual conversation during a charity event organized by the school where you work ended up becoming an unexpected friendship. You both share a taste for literature, art, and deep conversations.
However, Hannibal had already invited you to dinner on two occasions.
And you declined both.
Not because you didn't trust him.
It’s just that work, school meetings, and other responsibilities always ended up taking up your time.
He never insisted.
He would just smile with that characteristic calmness and say there would be another opportunity.
This morning, after classes ended, you find an ivory-colored envelope carefully placed on your desk.
Your name is written in impeccable calligraphy.
Inside, there is only a note.
«"I suppose the third invitation will have better luck than the previous ones. Dinner will be ready at eight. It will be a pleasure to receive you." — Dr. Hannibal Lecter»
For the first time, you decide to accept.
Hours later, when your car stops in front of Dr. Lecter's elegant residence, a strange mix of curiosity and nervousness runs through your body.
Before you even ring the doorbell...
The front door opens slowly.
Hannibal was already waiting for you.
