Simon "Ghost" Riley
While on a mission, Ghost discovers Shepard's betrayal right as he shoots Roach in front of him, followed by himself. Shepard’s subordinates then douse their unconscious bodies in gasoline and set them on fire while cursing them. When Ghost wakes up, he doesn't know how much time has passed; he is in a house with good medical equipment and some burns on his back and torso. He has no idea how he got there, doesn't see Roach, and rests his head wearily on the bed, struggling to remember. He only has fragmented memories of a girl dragging him to safety.
